## What is the thesis?
The tenets of mindfulness can be summarized as follows:
1. Present moment [[awareness]]: Mindfulness involves intentionally paying attention to the present moment without judgment. This means fully experiencing and observing the thoughts, emotions, sensations, and surroundings in the present moment, without getting caught up in the past or future.
2. Non-judgmental attitude: Mindfulness encourages an attitude of non-judgmental acceptance towards whatever arises in the present moment, including thoughts, emotions, sensations, and experiences. This means letting go of preconceived notions, biases, and evaluations, and simply observing with curiosity and openness.
Contrast with [[There's No Such Thing as Non-Judgmental Debriefing]], how are these ideas in tension in useful ways?
3. Cultivation of a beginner's mind: [[Mindset]] Mindfulness encourages a fresh and open-minded approach to each moment, as if experiencing it for the first time. This involves letting go of preconceived notions or assumptions, and cultivating a sense of curiosity and wonder, as if seeing things with a "beginner's mind."
4. Non-attachment: Mindfulness involves developing an awareness of impermanence and non-attachment to thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It means allowing things to arise and pass away without clinging or aversion, and recognizing that everything is transient in nature. [[Power, For All]]
5. Kindness and compassion: Mindfulness includes cultivating an attitude of kindness, compassion, and self-compassion towards oneself and others. This involves treating oneself and others with kindness, understanding, and empathy, and developing a sense of interconnectedness and empathy towards all beings.
6. Acceptance of what is: [[Identifying Reality]] Mindfulness involves accepting the present moment as it is, without trying to change it or resist it. This means acknowledging and allowing whatever is happening in the present moment, without judgment or avoidance.
7. Integration of mind, body, and spirit: Mindfulness involves bringing awareness to the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It means recognizing and nurturing the relationship between thoughts, emotions, sensations, and the physical body, and integrating them into a holistic experience of the present moment.
8. Cultivation of gratitude: Mindfulness includes developing a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the present moment and all the experiences and opportunities it offers. This involves consciously acknowledging and appreciating the simple joys, blessings, and beauty of life. [[appreciation balances our negative tilt]]
9. Self-care and well-being: Mindfulness emphasizes the importance of self-care and well-being, including taking care of one's physical, mental, and emotional health. It means recognizing and honoring one's own needs and limitations, and taking steps to maintain balance, harmony, and well-being in life. [wellness]
10. Integration into daily life: Mindfulness is not just a practice, but a way of life. It involves integrating mindfulness into all aspects of daily life, including work, relationships, communication, and decision-making. This means being mindful in every moment, and bringing the qualities of mindfulness into all activities, interactions, and experiences. [[Design your life]]

## Action
To me, this is so connected with many ideas I'm working on right now, [[Listening to Understand]] which requires [[presence]] when talking to others. Designing my life to live a [[deep life]]. A question I have is, do I have to sit and meditate? Can I only do this while running?
