Also, [[Feeling]] overflows other forms of data. It's kind of like [[Blind Spot]], and how there are such important things we do that are invisible to us. Your leaky face is the idea that your emotions come out, even when you try to hide them. Often they are mis-interpreted, or people tell a story because [[We see the world in stories]], so we climb the ladder of inference and make things up. Also, power differentials make us see things differently, so in that case frustration is interpreted as anger. It is best to say what we are feeling, like in [[🐓 Idea Farm/Deadfall/For myself only/Readwise/Books/Nonviolent Communication]], and what we need, so people do not mis-interpret our intentions and emotions. It matters because everyone can see our face but us, so we are blind to how we are coming across. ### What would the opposite argument be? We should be able to hide our emotions. People should just listen to our words. Why don't they just hear what I'm saying instead of making up their interpretations? ## Sources [[🐓 Idea Farm/Deadfall/For myself only/Readwise/Books/Thanks for the Feedback]]
