Psychological richness refers to the benefit you get not just from satisfaction, belonging, and the other pillars of psychological flourishing. But also from the idea that a variety of novel experience adds to the richness of your life. ##### why does it matter? When measuring your life (reminds of one of my top 10 books: [[How Will You Measure Your Life]]), don't forget about valuing novelty and variety in your experience set. Different people will value this differently. For me, it's a high value. ##### This reminds me of There's a certain benefit to hiking the same trail 1,000 times: https://www.forestsociety.org/forest-journal-column/forest-journal-doctors-prescription-take-hike, there's another characteristic to hiking 1,000 different trails. Both give you a valuable set of experiences, how you decide which is right or you in your [[Four Thousand Weeks]] is a key question to ask. ##### What would the opposite argument be? Each new experience puts you at risk, and closes certain doors. [[Hell Yes or No]] means you will say "No" a lot.
