topic: [[Learning]] created: 2023-02-28 *Finding the right match between learner and skill.* This reminds me of [[SimZones]], properly matching the complexity of the skill and the skill level of the person in that domain. This is a challenge for the learner and the coach, because to the learner if feels like failure, for the coach it feels like you're letting the learner fail. However, if we can get just to the edge, so the learners [[climb till you fall]], and we can step back as a [[learning leader]] and let the learner experience the messiness of learning, we can get great outcomes. what is it ![[CleanShot 2023-02-28 at 16.21.42.jpg]] This matters because [[Learning]] depends on failing, we need to have a [[Mindset]] that opens us to failure as a method of learning. ##### What would the opposite argument be? You can never know the right challenge point, you need to standardize for the masses, otherwise you're trying to optimize for each person which is untenable for scaling training. tags: #note/idea | #on/learning | #on/learningleader | #on/performance | #on/flow ##### Sources: Guadagnoli, M., Morin, M.-P., & Dubrowski, A.
