topic: [[Changing]] created: 2023-05-07 *How can we experience the [[Transformative Learning]] of near-death, without the pain of the event?* This reminds me of [[wisdom can't be told]] It's kind of like [[transitions involve a messy middle]], and when going through a perceived near-death one can better [[transform needs into wants]]. A near-death experience is an opportunity to live the [[acceptance]] of your impermanence. This matters because the closer you can get to accepting impermanence, the better you will be able to accept small perturbations. [[powerful people are the ones least distracted by small disturbances]]. ##### What would the opposite argument be? You can never have a near-death experience except by nearly dying. tags: #note/idea | #on/transformative | #on/mortality
