It's kind of like [[don't believe everything you think]] and [[Worry selectively]] to focus on the really important things. This is related to how industrialization has challenged us to be able to create [[sustainable]] systems. This is a recognition that we are designed for an ancient world, a world where our [[Scarcity Mindset]] is most effective. And when we translate that to the abstract, hyper complex modern world, our mindset has to shift to abundance. This matters because if we can switch to an abundance mindset, we will be accessing information the way we eat wild mushrooms. We will focus, pay attention to what we are doing, look only for the edibles, and discard most. ### What would the opposite argument be? Our brains are evolving, our brains are not just inside our heads anymore. We can keep up if we embrace what our new world is going to be, such as [[Thinking in Systems]], [[The Extended Mind]], and other ways of expanding our interaction with the world. ## Sources: [[Humans]]
