The learning leader is responsible for creating the conditions for maximum growth, but the growing takes place within the learning. This requires a shift of attention, from content to conditions, from ideas to environment. Learning takes experimentation, it takes trying things that you are uncertain if they will succeed or not. These activities are team activities, groups of people who may or may not work together regularly. Since [[group thinking is different than individual thinking]], they need to form an [[ad hoc team]] for learning. [[Learning]] is always taking place, and people can learn to do more of something when positively reinforced, or less of something when negatively reinforced. What are the actions that demonstrate this? - Demonstrating [[inclusive leadership]]: We, Us, Our - [[modeling vulnerability]] by taking risk yourself, asking questions with [[curiosity]] about what you don't know - "If the leader is supportive, coaching-oriented, and has non-defensive responses to questions and challenges, members are likely to conclude that the team constitutes a safe environment." This is a phrase used to denote the role of the facilitator of a learning experience Using this phrase matters because it puts you in the role of focusing on managing the conversation, the character, flow, etc. The actions that allow the learning leader to reduce hierarchy are [[inclusive leadership]]. ### What would the opposite argument be? These are adults, they are going to chose their own leader. The role authority is limited, how you chose to demonstrate your authority is another piece of the puzzle.
