%% [[Feeling]] tags:: #note/statement | #note/statement people:: #people/demianszyld # It's all data Lon Setnik dates:: 2022-06-19 %% *What we see is perceive, not the story we have made around it.* You rarely know what the data means until you program further, this relates to feedback in that frequently you get feedback that is the surface but there are deeper feelings underneath that are actually the real feedback that needs to be addressed This reminds me of how we [[climb the ladder of inference]] It's kind of like how [[Blind Spot]]s prevent us from seeing the actual data that exists. This is a saying from Demian, where he reminds me that all we have is data. And since [[We see the world in stories]], we make up stories around the data. But at the time, all we have is the data. This is also like how [[mixed-methods research]] combines qualitative and quantitative data. Remember that quantitative is also data. This matters because when we can get down to the real data, we can get closer to [[Identifying Reality]], and we are using the [[accidental feedback]] from the world that we are actually receiving for learning. ### What would the opposite argument be? To be human is to make meaning, so we cannot be human without the layering of meaning making. ## Sources:
