*when you think you know, you have no idea.*
This reminds me of how we [[climb the ladder of inference]] instead of using the data to drive understanding.
It's kind of like [[diagnosing conflict]], instead of working on the surface get to the [[cognitive frames]], the [[Developing Values]]. This needs to be a [[Forming Habits]] that changes through [[To build better habits, change your identity]].
This is a statement that should guide my interaction with others. When I feel the need to dominate, I need to backup and try to understand.
This matters because if I really want to create change, [[the way to change the world is by changing yourself]]. And, since you really can never change others, you should just seek to understand them. People get defensive when they are told what to do, according to [[change is the normal state]]. This would be giving extreme empathy.
### What would the opposite argument be?
- People do impact me, and I have a right to tell them about that impact. But I can do it embedded in A/I.
