--- topic: [[Thinking]] created: 2022-12-22 --- *How our brain jumps to creating stories when we get data.* This reminds me of [[trauma informed care]] It's kind of like how [[We see the world in stories]] This is a saying that helps us understand why we jump from data to stories when it comes to other's performance. When we [[climb the ladder of inference]] we are subject to ending up in the [[cognitive biases]] including falling out of the [[Basic Assumption]] and into the [[Fundamental Attribution Error]]. ##### What would the opposite argument be? Since we are so good at climbing the ladder of inference, why don't we [[embrace your hypocrisy]] and [[we are all the hero of our own story]], allow the story to be central to the conversation. %% tags: #note/statement | #on/thinking | #on/bias %% ##### Sources: Center for Medical Simulation
