*One note - one idea.*
This reminds me of
[[positivism]] vs [[Constructivism]]
It's kind of like
what is it
why does it matter
### What would the opposite argument be?

## atomic notes
### what?
one note - one idea
an alternative to full document notes
- an object of attention (you are taking a picture, what are you focusing on?)
- as soon as an idea starts to steal attention from the object of attention, it should become it's own note, and a link should occur
- they can be long if they need to be, it depends on what is your object of attention
- if you work on an idea for a long time, it tends to become a map of content
- Goal of research -> expand the boundaries
### why?
#### in comparison to full document notes
- finding easier (not isolated to a single document)
- synthesizing easier, multiple documents have one idea
- hard to connect ideas because we don't know the ideas, only the documents
- easier to create knowledge, overviews, etc.
- Don't worry about keeping the limits tight, instead write the idea, and when the details lead to new ideas, create new [[atomic notes]] that link
### how to create?
- you should write the ideas in your own words as a way to refer to what inspired you
some people believe totally ok to create a quote from someone else's work and use as your note, but Bianca believes you should write your own
Identify ideas:
"Billy and Jill went to the bookstore yesterday"
- billy and jill's relationship
- bookstores
- that specific bookstore
- yesterday, the day
- Billy and Jills trips in general
- Billy
- Jill
- Billy and Jills trip specific yesterday
Helpful to focus on [[Identifying Reality]] and taking [[observation]]s about it.
