*Humans need to know to move towards or away from something.*
This reminds me of [[it's all data]], we get data but [[We see the world in stories]], so we create worlds. Our [[Forming Habits]] loops also play a role here.
It's kind of like [[Amygdala Hijacking]], and how when it comes to [[Feedback]], [[bad is stronger than good]] when our withdrawal system is activated. We get afraid by a psychological threat the way we do by a physical threat. So when we get [[Feedback]], we can see this as a threat, depending on how our[[Mindsets change our mind and our future]].
The [[approach-withdrawal system]] governs if we are going to move towards or away from something. Pleasure is a marker for safe to approach, pain is a marker for should move away.
This matters because in our modern world we mistake short-term for long-term, and our [[approach-withdrawal system]] does a poor job helping us make decisions. Since [[Farmers can't cram for the harvest]], we need to be able to overcome the attractions of today to plan for the future, even when it is not in our short-term benefit.
