topic: [[People Growing]] created: 2023-02-16 *Rejecting feedback because part of it is untrue or otherwise factually suspect.* This reminds me of [[listening to win]] It's kind of like [[appreciation balances our negative tilt]], we can have a negative tilt when listening to others as well, we can assume they are wrong if they are giving us feedback in order to defend ourselves Truth Triggers are factual interpretations of [[Feedback]] data. As opposed finding to the underlying meaning by [[Listening to Understand]]. With truth triggers where we search for what might be wrong to discount the whole feedback, we block the feedback based on anything be incorrect, instead of looking for what might be behind the feedback or what's going on for the other person. ##### What would the opposite argument be? You _should_ reject incorrect feedback, if it's factually incorrect how can it be valid? tags: #note/idea | #on/feedback ##### Sources: [[🐓 Idea Farm/Deadfall/For myself only/Readwise/Books/Thanks for the Feedback]]
