*I drive human action by way of needing to feel respected.*
This reminds me of [[default mode]], and [[the hive switch]] trying to move people out of chimpanzee mind into bee mind.
It's kind of like how [[emotion changes the world we are in]], and how since emotions are very much relational, [[emotion changes the world we are in]]. Within groups, [[emotional contagion]] can cause groups to have emotional growths within them. [[Embodied Cognition]] means that the actions of some will have undue influence on others if their emotional states are aligned.
what is it
"First, human beings are powerfully driven by what are known as the thymotic desires. These are the needs to be seen, respected, appreciated. If you give people the impression that they are unseen, disrespected and unappreciated, they will become enraged, resentful and vengeful. They will perceive diminishment as injustice and respond with aggressive indignation."
> **thumos** (also commonly spelled 'thymos'; Greek: θυμός) is the Ancient Greek concept of "spiritedness" (as in "a spirited stallion" or "spirited debate"). The word indicates a physical association with breath or blood and is also used to express the human desire for recognition. It is not a somatic feeling, as nausea and giddiness are.

This matters because if people are made to feel disrespected, even if their actual position is high in the hierarchy, they will respond as if they need to be defensive of their position.
