# Make work visible so my manager-self knows what I do
*I clarify and create meaning. Transparency builds trust.*
Journaling, especially for me via the 5-minute journal, but also with daily notes, helps to clarify what my life is actually like.
It's kind of like the way we can think of ourselves both as a manager and as an employee. The executive function (prefrontal cortex) spends its energy directing attention and action. Toyota Production Systems demonstrated the value of visible work. This helps to create the pull system, so I am not just passing through life
A way of visualizing how your time passed, especially in the transition to knowledge work, will be key to long-term survival. Cynthia also needs to know that I'm doing things, that I'm not just available 24/7 for her convenience.
I need to keep my manager involved, so they can see my progress. I want my work to be [[Agile]].
Does my manager need a name?
