*If failure involves learning it is never failure. Design for learning with mindset, supporting the safety of the learning process, and do it in new areas.*
**[[Intelligent Failure]]s involve careful thinking, don't cause unnecessary harm, and generate new knowledge.**
- Explore the context, is it consistent, novel or variable?
- Takes place in new territory
- Context provides credible opportunity to advance towards a goal
- Informed by available knowledge
- As small as possible to promote learning
This reminds me of [[climb till you fall]], how do you get the [[Feedback]] from [[Identifying Reality]] so that you can learn from failure
It's kind of like how Paul's friends tested their own hypotheses, which led to so much amazing learning. [[epistemic humility]].
Don't think so much about being right when things are uncertain. The best we can do is articulate our assumptions, and we will invest in learning.
The question is: Was what I learned worth the investment?
### What would the opposite argument be?
Can you call it a failure if you're learning?
