[[Forming Identity]] #on/values _I am not of nature, I am in nature, I am nature._ [[Forest Bathing]] is how I can refresh my mind [[Systems]] Thinking considers that I am a whole person in a whole system, I have drivers, positive and negative enforcement loops. This is for me a [[hedonic treadmill]] antidote. Being in nature simplifies my world. I want to be a [[Steward]] when I am in nature, I see my impermanence. By living with a deep [[I am nature]], we recognize our base existence as an animal. We do not fight it, but we embrace it. We do not live separate from the [[Systems]] that we interact with, instead as an embed. Having a deep connection to nature makes me feel whole, take [[Extreme Responsibility]] of my impact on the globe, and also recognize my infinitesimally small existence. When I live with a deep connection to nature, I recognize the reality of my brevity of existence, my infinitesimally, as well as my true relationship with the world. In [[Power, For All]] this is a key to being humble. It is similar to Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" It is good because it helps me fight against my propensity for grandiosity. It is bad because I can get narrow-minded. It also applies in the William Cronon way [[Cronon_Trouble_with_Wilderness_1995.pdf]] where I may fetishize nature to an unhealthy way.
