*There are no shortcuts.*
This reminds me of avoiding [[Power Leaks]], focusing on every step in the half-marathon, and
It's kind of like how [[Barbells make you stronger]], and you can only pass the crux if you’re willing to [[climb till you fall]].
This is a metaphor in 7-habits, that reflects the goal of work being the way things happen.
This matters because as humans we want there to be shortcuts. But, work is just how good things happen. It doesn’t guarantee good things, but it does lay the groundwork for their possibility.
### What would the opposite argument be?
You can add fertilizer, water, poison the earth, and temporarily improve harvests And shorten growing time. But those veggies taste bland and boring.
