According to [[🐓 Idea Farm/Deadfall/For myself only/Readwise/Books/How to Take Smart Notes]] External Scaffolding is the process of thinking that occurs outside the confusion of the brain. This is a form of [[Elaboration]] This is generally most successful in writing.
By putting our ideas to paper, we force a structure to our thinking.
We also allow ourselves to look back and see what we wrote, and to see if it makes sense in a way our brain tricks ourselves into believing we know things, even when we don't.
